Essential Safety Gear
Helmet
A DOT-certified full-face helmet is non-negotiable. We recommend the Bell MX-9 MIPS ($160) or the Fox Racing V1 ($180).
Gloves
Off-road gloves protect your hands and improve grip. Look for:
- Knuckle protection
- Palm padding
- Breathable material
Body Armor
For aggressive riding, consider a chest protector and knee guards. The Leatt 3DF AirFit ($130) offers excellent protection without bulk.
Performance Upgrades
Upgraded Brake Pads
The stock hydraulic brakes are good, but sintered metal pads offer better stopping power and durability. EBC HH pads are a popular upgrade (~$30).
Tire Upgrade
For pure off-road riding, consider more aggressive knobby tires. For mixed use, the stock fat tires are hard to beat.
Second Battery ($300-$500)
